An itchy, irritated scalp may have different causes and should be treated in any case. Often too aggressive shampoos are the cause and the change to more gentle varieties can just be the solution.

The skin is the largest organ in the human body and performs a vital function: it protects the human body from external influences and irritants.  The skin protects the person so securely against pollution and disease. Due to the ever more increasing external stress, the skin is exposed to increasing hardship and strong, harmful elements daily. A healthy skin can withstand the external loads easily and has no problems with the processing of harmful substances. However, the number of skin diseases and allergies is rising sharply every year, and more and more people have skin problems. The causes can vary widely and are usually due to the various hair care products that one uses or also to environmental hazards.

Particular areas such as hands, face and scalp are exposed every day to heavy loads of dust, grime and pollutants.  Thus it is easily prone to itchy eczema and rashes. Dry scalp is a real suffering by certain individuals and often leads to unpleasant dandruff and itching. Conventional shampoos contain an aggressive cleansing for many people and can strain the already damaged skin even further. In addition to conventional shampoos that are gentle on the scalp, it is possible to switch to organic shampoos, which usually contain a much gentler detergent. With these types of shampoos, the ingredients used to clean the scalp are made from natural elements that will relieve the skin and won’t irritate it further. Substances from lemon have a gentle cleansing effect on excess fat on the scalp and removes sebum easily. Natural oils such as rose oil or almond oil that are organically grown gives the scalp additional moisture and soothes it. In severe cases, treatment with olive oil, will help to regenerate the skin.

16 Ways to De-stress

Stress Relief
To have a stress-free work life despite deadlines and unending household chores, family matters and the needs of a loving husband, we have these expert suggestions to ponder on:

  1. Work on flexible hours, our office offers flexible time schedules which we call sliding time.
  2. Sit alternately on the computer and the clerical chair and find means to stretch at least, if a bigger space to accommodate an exercise chair is not feasible.
  3. Save eyesight and irritation by having frequent short breaks from the computer.
  4. Use accumulated leave credits for milestones; I treat my kids to a stroll when I use my five mandatory and 3 special leave privileges.
  5. Slow down and take deep breathing exercises to fight stress caused by too much workload and deadlines.
  6. Washing hands may be best to avoid catching cold viruses but I got hand sanitizer called “alcogel” instead.
  7. Go out for lunch to see light and avoid what experts call “seasonal affective disorder”
  8. Ignore for a few minutes of emails that pop into the mail box. Who knows answering these emails may cause you more stress. A little break won’t be much of a delay.
  9. Leave work behind the office and do the things you enjoy most once you’re out.
  10. Share everything with your co employees. Help them out and they’ll do the same, whenever assistance is needed.
  11. Do not work “to death” (ouch!). I always advice my kids, too to only do what they can for the day or they’ll end up truly depressed. Eight hours-a-day work is enough or else, you won’t have to work the rest of your life if you’re down. Right?
  12. Find another job if you’re no longer happy.  That advice I got before I started looking for a job, and the same advice I always give my kids, friends, even new applicants.
  13. Have a break from work schedule and don’t ever try to miss it.
  14. Do self-imposed exercises by taking the stairs instead of elevators and walking, this is good for the heart.
  15. Do leg exercises to strengthen legs and keep balance.
  16. Walk and talk. Chat and laugh with a close friend as this is good for your body, mind and heart.
