To have a stress-free work life despite deadlines and unending household chores, family matters and the needs of a loving husband, we have these expert suggestions to ponder on:
- Work on flexible hours, our office offers flexible time schedules which we call sliding time.
- Sit alternately on the computer and the clerical chair and find means to stretch at least, if a bigger space to accommodate an exercise chair is not feasible.
- Save eyesight and irritation by having frequent short breaks from the computer.
- Use accumulated leave credits for milestones; I treat my kids to a stroll when I use my five mandatory and 3 special leave privileges.
- Slow down and take deep breathing exercises to fight stress caused by too much workload and deadlines.
- Washing hands may be best to avoid catching cold viruses but I got hand sanitizer called “alcogel” instead.
- Go out for lunch to see light and avoid what experts call “seasonal affective disorder”
- Ignore for a few minutes of emails that pop into the mail box. Who knows answering these emails may cause you more stress. A little break won’t be much of a delay.
- Leave work behind the office and do the things you enjoy most once you’re out.
- Share everything with your co employees. Help them out and they’ll do the same, whenever assistance is needed.
- Do not work “to death” (ouch!). I always advice my kids, too to only do what they can for the day or they’ll end up truly depressed. Eight hours-a-day work is enough or else, you won’t have to work the rest of your life if you’re down. Right?
- Find another job if you’re no longer happy. That advice I got before I started looking for a job, and the same advice I always give my kids, friends, even new applicants.
- Have a break from work schedule and don’t ever try to miss it.
- Do self-imposed exercises by taking the stairs instead of elevators and walking, this is good for the heart.
- Do leg exercises to strengthen legs and keep balance.
- Walk and talk. Chat and laugh with a close friend as this is good for your body, mind and heart.
